You also get a stove. The stove works using a frying pan (which is also new)!
The frying pan is used with fuel (like wood or coal) in the furnace to let you cook certain things, like lamb steak or taco shells (which make tacos)!
Worried about carrying all this food around? No worries. Use a lunchbox to hold 6 of your delicious cooked items.

OptiFine HD Mod

OptiFine HD is a performance related plugin that can provide a large FPS boost and dramatically reduce lag. OptiFine also contains many advanced configuration options available from the video settings menu to further tweak performance.
Ships Mod

The Ships mod gives you the ability to control small to large masses of blocks, possibly resembling ships, but also adds a few extra pieces to truly make your mass into a great functional ship. Yes anything from a 2 block raft to a 10,000 block battleship can be controlled with this mod.
The key to building a proper ship with this mod is building it above water to start and then making sure it follows guidelines on whether or not it will actually function. Each ship block will give you a GUI popup indicating whether your ship is the right size and whether or not it will even float once it’s launched. This gives you the ability to tweak your design before you end up ruining the whole thing by sinking it.
The basic ship needs only a ship block and a paddle and you’re off. This is really just a much sturdier boat but it won’t break easily and can float freely until you choose to dock it.
Anything beyond a small ship will need a helm in conjunction with the ship block as well as a few sails. More sails mean your ship will go faster. And even better is the helm will tell you how many registered sails you have so it won’t be a guessing game once you decide to launch your ship.
And you can even craft a Berth on your ship in place of a normal bed. Berths will allow you to retain the functionality of a bed and also create a roaming spawn point for you. So if you die you’ll always respawn back on your ship.
One more key aspect that sets this mod apart from others is the clipboard and ship projector combo. This allows you to make copies of ships. Essentially you use the clipboard to make the initial copy by right clicking any ship block attached to a ship. If you’re in survival mode, you’ll be able to use the Ship Projector to project an image of your ship as a hologram and then just simply build on top of it!

Helpful Villagers

The Helpful Villagers mod is a great addition to the game to give you more out of your villages. Typically when you find a new village it may be a good starting point for your own city or you can utilize it for trade. But ultimately villages are pretty mundane in vanilla Minecraft. With this mod you can now give your villagers professions and skills in order to become self sustained.
The most important aspect in order to give your new citizens jobs is the Guild Hall. You’ll need it to unlock jobs to assign your villagers. All you need to do is add a frame to any building with a door in the village. Then put the appropriate tool in the frame that corresponds to a specific job; i.e. axe for lumberjack, hoe for farmer, etc. Do this for each profession and you’ll be in business.
Then when you right click a villager you’ll be able to assign any jobs you’ve unlocked. After that you’ll need to either stock the guild with tools for your now employed villagers or manually give them equipment.
Then once you’ve given out jobs and tools, your villagers will go to work. It may be slow going at first but eventually you’ll have people farming, fishing and mining for you.
And one important aspect to this mod is that each villager has their own inventory. This is not only good for them to collect items they drop but you can also store your own excess inventory with them and then have them follow you around!

Vehicular Movement Mod

The Vehicular Movement Mod adds 37 vehicles to the game mostly ranging in color difference. Realistically you have a choice of car, truck, jeep, van, flatbed truck and even a zamboni!
The vehicles function as any mount in the game except they are much faster. They’re a little bulky but that won’t stop you from getting around easily. They are very simple to drive and don’t break from simply bumping into a wall. They do have damage though so be aware if you fall from a great height, you may lose your car.
They will drive on any surface and even up blocks so long as the path is only one block height difference from the previous block. This makes scaling mountains a breeze. But obviously they will travel best on well laid roads.
You can drive the cars through water to a certain depth but spending too long in it or too deep will ultimately destroy it. Still makes for quick travel across shallow bodies of water.
This is certainly a great alternative to regular mounts in the game as the cars are surely much faster than animals. Have a safe trip!

Finder Compass Mod

The Finder Compass gives a little more ability to your standard compass. It adds extra needles to help you find strongholds, diamonds, mob spawners or any other ores. There are 3 modes to set the compass: Adventuring, Shiny Stones, and Working Man’s Mineables; each able to find different things.
You can change the settings whenever you want by clicking anywhere with the compass. Adventuring mode will help find strongholds and emeralds; Shiny stones mode will find diamonds and redstone; and the working man’s mineables will find things like iron, coal, and gold. Then whenever you’re near the items in question just take a look at your compass and it will start to point where you need to go. The compass will color code the needles to which item they’re pointing to to make it easier to decipher what you’re looking for.
It’s incredibly useful to cut down on the amount of time it takes finding useful things like iron, coal and especially diamonds. Now you won’t need to specifically vein a mine looking for those precious resources.
You won’t need to craft anything special either. This works with the standard compass.
